Twalima Company Limited is a fully registered Tanzanian agricultural enterprise with its roots deep in the Southern Highlands — one of East Africa's most celebrated coffee-growing regions. From our base in the Iyunga area of Mbeya, we farm, source, process, and export premium single-origin Arabica coffee to buyers around the world.
We operate across the full value chain. We grow coffee on our own 100-acre farms. We partner with smallholder farmers through formal contracts and cooperative societies.
We provide the inputs that raise the quality of every harvest. And we hold all export licences required by the Tanzania Coffee Board to bring that coffee to international markets.
We cultivate ~100 acres of owned farmland in Mbeya and Songwe, controlling quality from planting through to harvest.
We contract with smallholder farmers and AMCOS groups, supplying fertilisers, pesticides and herbicides to improve yield and quality
We curate and process every lot — sorting, grading and freshly grinding beans to retain their full flavour.
Fully licenced by the Tanzania Coffee Board, we export premium Arabica to buyers worldwide, on fair and sustainable terms.
We select and export only coffee that meets our quality threshold — graded by bean size, density, cup characteristics, and freedom from defect. We do not compromise on specification.
Our sourcing and farming practices are aligned with environmental stewardship. We work with farmers who maintain responsible land and water management, and we support practices that protect the ecosystem that sustains our crop.
We believe the people who grow our coffee should benefit from its value. Our contracts and pricing frameworks are designed to ensure fair returns to smallholder farmers and cooperative members at every point in the supply chain.
Twalima Company Limited holds all export licences issued by the Tanzania Coffee Board (TCB), the statutory regulator established under the Coffee Industry Act No. 23 of 2001. Every shipment we make is fully documented, legally compliant, and sourced through verified supply channels
Our farms sit across the Mbeya and Songwe regions at elevations of 1,600 to 1,800 metres above sea level — altitude that forces the coffee cherry to ripen slowly and develop deep, complex flavours.
These are not incidental landholdings. They are the foundation of our quality promise, and they allow us to demonstrate good agricultural practice to every farmer in our network.
Tanzania's coffee sector rests on its smallholder farmers — over 95% of the country's crop comes from families farming between half a hectare and one hectare each. Twalima works directly within this ecosystem, entering formal contracts with farmers and their Agricultural and Marketing Cooperative Societies (AMCOS).
We go beyond simply buying their coffee. We supply agricultural inputs — fertilisers, pesticides, herbicides and fungicides — at accessible terms, so farmers have what they need to produce their best crop.
The Journey
Coffee is grown on our own farms and partner smallholder plots at 1,600–1,800m altitude in Mbeya and Songwe.
We contract additional supply from smallholder farmers and AMCOS, providing agri-inputs under formal agreements.
Cherries are sorted, pulped, fermented, washed, and dried on raised tables — preserving clarity and flavour.
Graded, documented, and shipped globally under full Tanzania Coffee Board export authority.
